GroupManager
============

GroupManager application is reponsible for maintaining group membership and
topology information. The main module is [GroupManager](lib/group_manager.ex).

The application is based on two core services. [Chatter](lib/group_manager/chatter.ex) is responsible for communication between peers. It favours UDP multicats over direct TCP communication. To decide what peer is accessible through multicast, it maintains an ETS database with the help of [PeerDB](lib/group_manager/chatter/peer_db.ex).

When [Chatter](lib/group_manager/chatter.ex) broadcasts information it uses a
logaithmic broadcast tree built randomly. The next step is to remove those
nodes accessible on UDP multicast from the tree. Finally it sends a multicast message and starts the logarithmic broadcast too.

The other main component is [TopologyDB](lib/group_manager/topology_db.ex) which maintains the list of groups and their topology in an ETS table.
